Fantasy cities should be another place for stories and adventure, not just boring places for drinking imaginary ale and shopping for imaginary items. I’d like to come up with interesting encounters for players visiting fantasy cities while playing Dungeons & Dragons.

For each establishment, I should make a “shop card,” which would list what’s inside each establishment and a menu of products and services the players can get while there, along with prices. I’d like to create a grid for each city or town the players visit, and create a shop card for each establishment they can visit in the city.

Many players of table-top role-playing games (TTRPGs) like Dungeons & Dragons (DnD) like to create elaborative miniature scenes with painted pewter miniature figurines to represent heroes and monsters in battle. However, not everyone has the time and money to do this. My solution? Make my own miniature figurines out of paper.

Some players of games like Dungeons & Dragons might not know what a tinderbox or caltrops actually look like. Visual aids can make it easier for players to visualize what’s going on during a game. You can hand them out to players when they acquire new items or abilities. They’re also useful so the players can always see what their options are for taking action during the game.

I’ve always thought it would be fairly simple to write a guitar riff generator app. A random guitar riff generator would be useful for sparking ideas and creativity in humans. It may be a fun exercise to create my own random guitar riff generator, since I could customize it to create metal guitar riffs of the flavors I enjoy most.
