Back in 2008, I decided to buy every a box of every regular Topps baseball card release over the past 25 years. I went on eBay and bought more than 50 boxes of baseball cards ranging from 1984 to 2008.
Then I set up a blog. On the blog, I opened up a pack each day and blogged about it. It went on for years, and I kept up the tradition of buying a box of each regular Topps release every year. That’s three new boxes a year.
Eventually, the time expense of running the blog was too much, and I stopped writing daily posts. Then I went ahead and opened the rest of my packs. I made a blog post for every release. Then I lost interest in even that.
I bought a jumbo box of 2016 Topps Series 2. The cards just sat there for months before I opened them. Even after I opened them, I didn’t sort through them and blog about it for weeks.
I no longer had the passion or time for buying a box of baseball cards every few months. It became apparent that 2016 Topps Series 2 would be my last box break post.
I do still collect baseball cards. But now I will focus on buying single cards of my favorite players. I’ll continue to buy autographs and select base cards.
Here is what I got in the final box break, ordered from most common to most rare.
