Prayer is actually a form of meditation. Whether aloud or mentally, you are reciting a mantra and expressing your wishes to some higher form, whether it be God or Nature or The Universe.

Mindfulness involves “living in the moment.” You sit quietly, being aware of the present state of your body and your surroundings. You are aware but non-judgmental.
Gratefulness is just what the word implies. You reflect on the positive things in your life for which you are grateful. You take your mind off of negative thoughts and focus on the positive things that make you happy. You send your love and gratitude to those positive aspects of your life and be content.
