I’ve always thought of genealogy as a personal thing. Unless your family is renowned across the world, why would anyone be interested in someone else’s genealogy?
Recently though, I listened to a Creative Penn podcast called “Researching And Writing Family History Or Genealogy With TL Whalan,” which changed my mind about publishing personal family histories. My main takeaway is that if you research deep enough and find the interesting stories behind the people in your family tree, other people may be interested in reading it.
I probably won’t go as deep as TL Whalan, and I probably won’t write a book, but I’d like to at least put up a website where I can show off pictures, family artifacts, and the best stories from my family.
