Every civilization throughout history had their own legendary monsters, and the heroes who dared fight them. I’d like to write stories about these fictional epic battles, both as an exercise in writing fiction and also as an exercise in researching other cultures and their stories.
Life Lessons
Most people read books and then make exactly zero changes to their life… What if we took 365 of the best books, read one summary each morning, and then made sure we implemented at least one takeaway from the summary, on that day? That’s the most efficient way I can think of for books to change your life.
Summary of All Knowledge
An overview of 1,000 topics covering all of human knowledge, calling out the aspects of each topic that are most interesting and important to know. The final product would be something like an encyclopedia, summarized into a single readable volume.
Book Modernization
Millions of books were published over a hundred years ago, but most are woefully out of date in their content and stories, many of them containing refuted information or offensive stereotypes. It would be a fun project to edit some of these books to modernize their content.
Enjoying Baseball
Baseball has been a favorite pastime for Americans for nearly 200 years. I’d like to write about how different lifetime baseball fans enjoy the game, and go in-depth on some aspects of the game that require more technical knowledge, like sabermetrics, scouting, card collecting, and others.
Minimalism
The point of minimalism is to cut out unnecessary information, objects, and tasks from our lives, so that we can focus on what truly matters. In taking up this project, I hope to document my journey to minimalism. The end goal is a more focused, powerful way to go about living.
