Years ago, I experimented with hiring writers to ghostwrite non-fiction content on various topics. The idea was that I could use ghostwriters to put together non-fiction books quickly and sell them on Amazon.
In the end, hiring ghostwriters wasn’t commercially viable for me. It cost too much to hire writers and market the books, so I scrapped the project and republished the content of the books as ShockNotes Guides:
- ShockNotes Guide to Personal Finances
- ShockNotes Guide to Bitcoin
- ShockNotes Guide to Sleeping Well
- ShockNotes Guide to Living Long
However, now that very good artificial intelligence (AI) tools are available to the general public, the landscape has changed. It no longer costs a lot of money to generate words. I’ve played with the tools, and they generally produce better content than human writers can. It’s a gamechanger.
With this project, I’m resurrecting the idea of putting together ghostwritten books, and perhaps selling them. But this time, instead of having the content ghostwritten, they will be AI generated.
